Our elders have lived to see much change in our country. Today’s greatest dilemma for them: the ability to survive on a fixed income that is outdated and not a livable income. Crystal is lucky to have all 4 of her grandparents still alive and they complain about the neglect every chance they get. And they are totally right! How is it that Crystal’s 92 year old WWII vet and life-long farmer grandpa is unable to afford the care and housing he needs? It’s unacceptable. Our administration will swiftly address this growing need as Baby Boomers move into this phase of life. We propose a Universal Basic Retirement Income that allows our elders to maintain their dignity and survive in an ever-changing world.
